"I am very pleased to be able to report to you that the ISHS commission for Nomenclature and Cultivar Registration has agreed to the appointment of the Sweet Osmanthus branch of the Chinese Flower Association as International Cultivar Registration Authority(ICRA) for the genus Osmanthus.Congratulations on this appointment and for the exemplary way you have set about obtaining it and the work you have already published .

I enclosed the declaration which we now ask all ICRAs to sign,indicating you willingness to follow the Cultivar Plant Code and to keep the Commission informed of your activities.Please sign this and return it to me as soon as possible.All ICRA appointment are reviewed at roughly 4 year intevals (at rare meetings of the Commission's Executive Committee) and we would expect to be undertaking this review process again in about 2006.I will of course keep you informed.

In the meantime you will be requested each year to provide a report of current activities, but you will be prompted to send in such a report,so please wait until asked.

As soon as I can arrange for someone to take on the management of the ISHS ICRA website,details of your appoinment will be posted there.Please feel free to advertise yourself wherever appropriate.
